”Mornington Hotel Vardagsgläntor 2” – A fantastic photo book

I realized the other day that I have not shown other than previews from one of my favorite jobs in 2013: ”Mornington Hotel Vardagsgläntor 2”.

Vardagsgläntor is Swedish for glade or opening of the weekday. A good description of a perfect place in between the obvious ones.

It is the second time that the Mornington Hotel Stravaganza Göteborg is publishing the book Vardagsgläntor, where hotel employees and a number of renowned guests pick and tell about their favorite places in Göteborg – places that are a little outside the main tourist areas. It is a fantastic book with really good tips. Even more fun is that the hotel has allowed each employee to be photographed in different styles. Each style is unique to them. There is everything from delicate pink to dirty rock and roll. I was the photographer and each spread is something new in both styles and text.

Here you see everyone from the manager to the cleaning lady. And even one of the ”guest writers” in the book. The red photo is of Nathalie, who works as a producer at GIFF (Göteborg International Film Festival) and is also hard rocking DJ.

The book is designed by Stina Thimren on Bilbao and stylist and makeup artist were Kristin Brulay with assistance of Tuva Holmlander and Carolina Berta.

Are you getting married 2014?

The bookings for 2014 has started to come. So if you are planning your wedding in 2014 and especially in the summer, then it’s time to book your photographer.

There’s lots to think about for a wedding. Amazing good food, how to keep the drinks cold and bubbly. The location must be booked and maybe decorated. And the right wedding photographer must be found.

There are so many factors that make a photographer’s right for you. But if you want to book me, two things are more important than any other. That you like my photos and that we have fun together. Then we create the magic!

Preview of Maria and Johan’s autumn wedding in Växjö and Osaby in Sweden

I met Maria and Johan for the first time just over a year ago. At another wedding. And now we’ll meet again, and this time it’s their big day. And what a day. It was the first weekend with real autumn in the air but still green leaves on the trees. Maria was incredibly beautiful. She struggled bravely in the cold air with her bare shoulders. The flowers she had tied herself and her shawl was an old family garment used by several brides before.

The ceremony was held in Tävelsås church, a beautiful and light wooden church just outside Växjö. It was one of those ceremonies when even the photographers can’t hold back the tears. Very nice, beautiful and loving. Just like Maria and Johan.

Some of the portraits were taken at the still lake right beside the church. We also took the opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful forests around Växjö for more great pictures before the party continued on Osaby manor.

Ingrid and Leonards engagement shoot in the woods in Gothenburg

It’s amazing when a photography session is filled with laughter and we all have so much fun. Ingrid and Leonard is one of those couples. You have fun with them.

They’re one of the many wonderful couples that I got to meet, take photos and get to know this year. A few of weeks ago, on a hot summer Thursday, we met at Stora Torp to make their engagement session. The pictures were a wonderful blend with the many laughs but also lovely quiet moments of closeness. Just as a e-session should be!

Preview of Karin & Davids windy wedding in Tylösand Sweden

On Saturday I was in the Tylösand. On the way down the rain was pouring down so much that we had to slow down the car. But all the time I felt calm, somewhere I knew it was going to be an absolutely amazing wedding no matter the weather. And when we arrived it started to clear up. It was as windy as the previous visit but who cares about a little wind when you have important things to do. Karin and Davids wedding!

They’re one of those couples that you can not help liking a lot. They are so incredibly varm, nice, fun, happy, and as you can see: Really good looking too. The wedding was in the hot, cramped and beautiful St. Olof’s chapel. The portraits were taken directly at the sea before the party then continued at restaurant Salt at the beach.
